 The offset boring head is available in a variety of models and sizes however the basic function is the same. It has a dove tail slide that is adjustable with a micrometer screw. This slide moves off center thus moving the boring tool off center.

The micrometer adjustment screw can be quickly rotated to a given diameter and also finely adjusted to a precision of a thousandth of an inch.
