How to Use the VMS Learning Library

The Learning library is a series of stand alone lectures that are not interconnected or attached to any curriculum or outline. There is no "best place to start". Just pick a topic of interest and go have a look.
To make this easier for the the beginner, esoteric words and phrases have been supported with extensive cross linking of subject matter and glossary words or terms.
Cross linking takes you directly to the glossary. An example from one sample topic is "The function of a groove is usually to allow room for a fitting part, such as a rubber O-ring" . Clicking on the "O-Ring" link will take you to glossary page the explains what an O-ring is. As with all topics there are no redundant links within a single topic. Once a glossary word or term is linked it will not be linked again in that topic.
These topics are best viewed with 800x600 screen resolution or better
Following is a typical menu header for navigating from each page.

Library | Start Page | Previous Page| Next Page

Clicking on Library will take you to the multi-page library of topics
Clicking on Start Page will take you to the beginning of the topic and the menu
Clicking on Previous will take you back one page
Clicking on Next will take you forward one page.

The following apply to all views:

Clicking on this icon will launch a video in your default video player. Skip them if using a dial up connection or if you are not willing to wait a few minutes for download

Click on this icon for a pop up Flash animation. These are dial up friendly. Don't forget to close the pop up window.

In some cases there is a flash animation playing in the page already. If the animation is not looped and you wish to play the animation again, click right and a Flash menu will pop up.

Some of the flash animations that are playing in a page will loop continuously. Others will play only once. If you want to pause or rewind an animation right click on it and you will get a menu like the one shown below

By checking or unchecking "Play" you can pause the animation.

By clicking on "Rewind" you can play the animation from the beginning.
