Cross feed

1) When machining on a lathe: feeding the cutting tool in or out perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

2) On a lathe: the slide that moves the compound and tool post in or out perpendicular to the axis of rotation

3) When machining on a mill: feeding the work piece in or out perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

4) On a mill: the slide that moves the table in or out perpendicular to the axis of rotation
